An annual scholarship program by both Optimist International and our local club, where children under 19 get to prepare speeches and essays on a specific topic. There is also the chance for those under 11 to enter the Kids Speak Competition which acts like a primer for the full Oratorical and provides a wonderful opportunity for younger children to gain experience and confidence as well as personal growth.

All of these contests allow children to  share their thoughts, ideas, and stories to a small audience and a panel of judges. Medallions are awarded for top essay submissions and speeches. Top entries in the Oratorical and Essay also get the opportunity to advance to higher zone and regional levels where over $20,000 worth of scholarships for post secondary education can be won.
